What is Yukkuri?

Just like with any other coffee, there are a ton of ways to consume it. But, here are some basic tips and tricks when you drink it straight.

• Put it in the fridge to cool it. Before drinking it we recommend bringing it back to just bit cooler than room temperature.
• Choose your glass wisely. We prefer to use certain whiskey glasses and wine glasses. These are great choices, since our coffee offers a bunch of different layered flavors. That will be much more noticeable with the right glass.
• Take it easy. The caffeine content is quite high. So we recommend around 50-70ml per portion.

Roasted by Friedhats

Guji that’s not from Guji? Yeah, production sometimes doesn’t go as planned. But don’t be afraid. This coffee roasted by Fried Hats and from the region of Limu is a big hit. It’s refreshing and sweet. It sips away like a peach-ice tea and has a bright acidity that gets better with each sip.

Friedhats is a well-known name in the coffee scene. Keeping their productions small and controlled. Started by Lex Wenneker and Dylan Sedgwick.

These guys really focus on the origin, variety or process of the coffee when roasting it. Keeping it super light and not really trying to push specific characters or trades like sweetness, for example.

Skeptical about cold brew, we had to put in some work but eventually they agreed to help out! Together we decided on a washed Ethiopia. They wanted to see if we could keep the clean and vibrant flavors of the coffee. We’re very happy with the results and hope to do some more crazy try-outs in the future.

Roasted by Five Ways

This  coffee from paradise that’s roasted by Five Ways, feels like you’re sipping away on a tropical cocktail next to the pool. It brings a ton of juicy flavors and reminds us of grape fruit, tropical fruit and a touch of sweet ginger.

G-day Mate! How’s it going?

Benny the roaster and owner of Five Ways based in Amsterdam, met Siebe quite some time ago when they did a barista shift together. Intrigued by the story Siebe told about starting a cold drip business the two stayed in touch.

When Siebe thought about the new production he knew that it was time to hit up the crazy Aussie man and check if he wanted to collaborate. And he sure did!

Five Ways is building up its reputation super quickly and also just opened an awesome cafe on the Kinkerstraat in Amsterdam.  Apart from ticking off all the good qualities of any specialty roaster, they are super supportive towards others and do everything they can to help out with cool ideas, collaboration and that sort of stuff.

Roasted by Shokunin

Uganda delivers and Shokunin roasts. Fermented in barrels, these coffee cherries deliver a very solid flavour profile. A rich and strong aroma with a nice body. This coffee coats the mouth with dark chocolate and has a refreshing cherry finish. We consider this one the strongest in the line-up.

This is not the first batch we’ve made with Jelle, the owner of Shokunin. And it will definitely not be the last. Jelle is one of the most consistent roasters we’ve met and worked with. He focusses on bringing the coffee community together and strives for a super balanced cup in the end result. Having an incredible amount of knowledge and skills combined with a very open-minded and humble attitude is always a pleasure to collaborate with! When we told him about the new batch, he had just got this power bean from Uganda. Cherry’s fermented in whiskey barrels, perfect for a liquor like coffee. So that’s what we ended up using.

Pour a shot of (around 50ml) Yukkuri cold drip coffee in a glass filled with ice cubes.

Our coffee is perfect for iced latte. You won’t need any sugar to balance out the bitterness that you get with a cold espresso.

Fill a large glass with ice and add a shot of Yukkuri Kuku Gamago or Paraíso, now fill the rest of the glass with milk (or around 150ml) to the coffee. Also try the iced latte with some oat milk for a cake like drink.

Pour a shot Yukkuri Guji in a rocks glass filled with ice cubes. Fill the rest of the glass with tonic and garnish with an orange peel. You can also spice this drink up with a shot of gin for refreshing coffee gin & tonic.

This refreshing and easy to make cocktail is a great party starter. Served in a nice tumbler glass this cocktail makes you feel like your sipping away in the tropics. And will freshen you up for the rest of the evening. Thanks Mike!

Ingredients:

• 50ml Plantation Original Dark
• 25ml Lime juice
• 20ml Yukkuri Paraíso
• 15ml Cointreau
• 5ml Cinnamon syrup

Put all the ingredients in a cocktailshaker with a few ice cubes, shake and strain in a rocks glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish with a lime wheel, cinnamon stick and some coffee beans.

A little twist to an all time classic. This drink is great for people that want a more gentle Negroni with just a touch less bitternes. Adding the thyme gives it a bit more dept and will keep you coming back sip after sip.

Ingredients:

• 30ml Yukkuri Kuku Gamago
• 30ml Campari
• 30ml Dolin rouge red vermouth
• 30ml Beefeather Dry gin
• 3 Sprigs of thyme

Smash the thyme in a cocktailshaker and add all the remaining ingredients. Shake with one ice cube and pour through a sieve in a glass filled with ice. Garnish with some thyme leaves and an orange peel.

Espresso martini never was so easy to make. No need for fancy equipment, skip the bad extracted espresso and forget about adding a lot of sweeteners to make up for the bitter flavor. The Yukkuri martini will do it all. Be the star of your dinner party and keep the party going all night long.

Ingredients:

• 40ml Absolut vodka
• 20ml Coffee liqueur
• 30ml Yukkuri Kuku Gamago
• 15ml Sugar syrup (optional)

Put all the ingredients in a cocktail shaken and top off with ice cubes. Shake well for 10-15 seconds, take of the top of the shaker and put a cocktail strainer on top of the shaker.

Pour the Yukkuri martini through the strainer and a little sieve into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with some coffee beans and dark chocolate shavings.

An oath to the Tiki Room. This cocktail is an all time favorite.

Super easy to drink and at the same time layers of flavor that will take some time to develop.

+ Some extra vitamins to help your future self out for the next day

Ingredients:

• 60ml Mates gold rum
• 40ml Orange Juice
• 25ml Guji
• 20ml Passion fruit
• 15ml Lemon juice

Shaken with crushed ice. Poured in a large Cognac glass or small Gin and tonic Glass. Garnish with mint and passion fruit.

A traditional cocktail that highlights the cherry flavors of this coffee. Take it easy is the meaning of Yukkuri. And we advise you to do the same when drinking this one.

A great addition to any fancy night

Ingredients:

• 60ml Hatozaki
• 20ml Kuku Gamago
• 20ml Cherry Heering

Stir with some ice cubes and strain in a chilled Coupe. Garnish with a cherry

A great cocktail for those that are counting calories or need a bit of refreshment during a long evening of drinking.

Grapefruit and lime pair up together and will cleanse your pallet and lift it up for the next drink.

Ingredients:

• 60ml Loopuyt dry gin
• 25ml Paraìso
• Top off with Spa green

Build it in a Collins glass filled with ice cubes and garnish with a (dried) lime wheel.

Since the caffeine content is quite high. And because it’s a great drink to sip on. We recommend serving it in 50-70ml portions.

That would be 2 servings for the 100ml bottle and 7 for the 350ml.

After opening you should keep the bottles refrigerated. We recommend around 3 days max for the 100ml bottle and around 2 weeks for the 350ml bottle.

Just like with a bottle of wine it will mainly be the flavor that changes. It will become more chocolaty and less complex the longer you leave it open.

After that it will eventually expire and go bad.

It’s sweet, refreshing and complex. Think of it as a great filter coffee or a gentle wine. The flavor isn’t a punch in your face kind of drink, but more of a gentle ride.
